Today, the Vista Irrigation District serves over 28,000 accounts, the majority of which are residential, and a population of more than 121,000. A total of 22,362 acre feet, or 7.3 billion gallons, was distributed and sold within the district in 2007-2008. Of that amount, 68% was distributed for residential use, 10% for industrial and commercial, 9% for agriculture, 10% for landscape irrigation and 3% for governmental use.
